More Than Just Travel

By supporting Girls Be Change, Goodwings is not only helping to facilitate meaningful adventures for women but also contributing to initiatives that uplift communities and promote gender equality. Participants will engage in changemaker community building, impactful service work, learn from local changemakers, and foster connections that extend beyond the expeditions. 

Impact Expeditions for Women Explorers in South Africa and Peru

The inaugural Impact Expedition for Women Explorers is set to take place in Makalali  Nature Reserve in South Africa from June 7 to 13, 2025, co-hosted with Wilde Tracks. This expedition addresses the urgent need for wildlife conservation and intervention in South Africa, where participants will gain a rare, behind-the-scenes glimpse into a world usually hidden from the public eye. Explorers will work directly with seasoned conservation experts and wildlife veterinarians with 25 years of experience, helping to fund critical conservation efforts, including helicopter operations, wildlife collars and tags, veterinary fees, and essential medicines.

The two Impact Expeditions in Peru invite women explorers to embark on transformative journeys through the stunning landscapes and rich cultures of the Andes and the Amazon.

• In the August expedition, participants will visit the Sacred Valley, home to the Inca Empire's direct descendants, explore the ancient capital of Cusco, and culminate their adventure at the iconic Machu Picchu. This expedition includes meaningful service work that empowers rural girls' education through the Sacred Valley Project, a featured organization of the Girls Opportunities Alliance of the Obama Foundation, while allowing participants to connect with local social entrepreneurs and learn how social business models uplift communities.
  
  
• Following this, in the September expedition, explorers will immerse themselves in the lush Amazon rainforest, starting in Puerto Maldonado, where they will meet wildlife conservationists and advocates for indigenous rights. They will gain insights into the challenges faced by these communities and wildlife due to habitat loss and illegal trade, while discovering the crucial importance of preserving the Amazon's delicate ecosystem.
